Do you know who I am? GOOD NEITHER DO I. "What has the world come to? When one must dig through the dirt to find ones next meal. What's a dog to do? Shocking, absolutely shocking." The golden male grumbled sarcastically to himself as he pawed through the rubbish, trying to discover something edible among the heap of foul-smelling objects, though the probability of that happening seemed slim. Typically, winter was the worst month for any stray, though it wasn't the frigid weather that made his life more difficult, more so the effect it had on the residents of the City. For one, it meant the mongrel's major food source was gone. When the weather got cold the humans stayed at home, which meant there were no more picnics at the park, or general fun days out, in which he took the chance to play the fool, playing up to the humans and receiving a bite to eat if he put on a good show. Children were by far the best; they couldn't resist his canine charms. It was as easy as... well, taking candy from a baby - literally. Plus, they were the only humans who he'd allow physical contact with. They were innocent adolescents, their minds clear of cruel intention, unlike the adults, but that was another story. A long and painful story that Malakai was determined to forget.
"I've got you now!" Malakai announced in an ecstatic bark, his paws beginning to dig furiously through the heap as he caught a potential scent after pushing aside a few small boxes. Sure enough, after shovelling through a disgusting substance and carefully nosing a sharp object out of the way, he set his eyes on the prize. Meat, and not a bad share either. Sure, it wasn't exactly fresh and a revolting odour mingled with the mouth-watering scent, but beggars can't be choosers. He sunk his teeth into the meat, getting a firm grip before proceeding to climb down the mountain of garbage. However, he was so preoccupied with satisfying thoughts of gnawing on the meat and obliterating the hunger pains in his stomach that he hadn't had the chance to think about where he was stepping. His forepaw slid when he stepped on a smooth piece of wood, and not being graceful enough to catch himself, he fell on his side with a surprised yelp and went plummeting down the scrap heap. True that this was a much faster route, but much more hazardous as his body was thrown into sharp items, and the meat was flung from his jaws on his first somersault. It took him less than a minute to return to ground level - an ever so elegant landing on his side, knocking the breath out of his lungs on impact.
"Ah... shit. " He groaned once he recovered his breath, heaving himself to his paws. His fur was quite literally all over the place, though Malakai wasn't too concerned about his appearance right now. He did worry though about the fact his front leg was covered in blood. Perfect. He lowered his muzzle to his leg, wrinkling his nose at the metallic taste on his tongue as he drew it along his tarnished fur. Though it stung and he had to try hard not to flinch, he was glad to find out that the wound wasn't nearly as severe as the crimson fur would've let on. No dying today, apparantly. He narrowed his chocolate brown eyes, keeping the weight off of his leg as he moved slowly, searching for the meat that caused him so much trouble. There was no way he was going to leave this place without a full stomach after all that. NOTES. crappy, first post with him. xD OPEN TO ALL.[/blockquote] Got nothing to say, BUT IF YOU PAY ME I CAN PLAY THE FOOL.

M a j a Songs. I heard them everywhere. From the birds that sang through the trees, to the radios in the cars of the humans that were making their ways back into the streets. Everywhere I went.. there was music, songs, noises. loved such things, I loved the commotion and life... normally. But right now.. I just wanted it all to stop. My ears had been ringing with the sound rather loudly and with a headache pulsing through my skull I simply wished that I had been born deaf rather than to have been born with ears that could hear a pin drop at the end of the block. My head was somewhat low as I made my way through the streets, my pelt feeling the touch of humans here and there as they all hustled and bustled through the streets to get to their jobs, lunches, homes, schools, lives... leaving me be for the most part.
My ears were flexed back so that they settled to my mane, and to be rather honest I was feeling dizzy when I entered an alleyway of which lead away from downtown and into the more quiet part of the city. Foolish actions for a lone female like myself to walk down such a dark and lonely alley, but I figured that if I'd lived this long, survived as many scars as I already had.. one more scar wouldn't hurt, and nothing any dog could throw at me would be enough to scare me. I'd been shot by a human bullet for crying out loud, heard bombs go off all around me, and suffered things most dogs couldn't even imagine. Nothing any of the dogs on these streets could ever scare me; I'd been through hell and back already. I was its victor.
Sure the air was cold, sure it wasn't the most comfortable thing to sleep in, but we all put up with it somehow. Thankfully, I wasn't an american bulldog without a coat, and had been gifted with the coat I already had, which helped, but I couldn't help but to feel bad as I wandered past a doberman that was miserably making his way past me towards a building. "Pathetic young lad.."
I thought to myself, though I kept my words back and simply continued on my way as I made my way past the sidewalk and to the other side. A car moved past from behind me as I got to the other side of the road, and I turned back to watch it, remembering what it had been like to be in one of those during the winter. Soft smile glided along my maw as I had a flashback of sitting in the car with Bobby with his tunes blaring, the heat so warm and cozy as I sat in the front seat with him and we made our way through town. I loved my life with him... and I missed it. But there was no going back. My days with Bobby were gone, for he'd died in front of me after telling me he loved me. There was no looking back, only forward in life; its something I'd learned in my years of living. Sure, there wasn't a day in my life I went through without having a flashback of some sort, but it was those memories that had carved me into the tough dog I was now. Sure, I may have been a little fucked up compared to other females, but I was stronger than them and they knew it. Now making my way on down the sidewalk I looked up to see something of which you simply couldn't miss. Junk. It was piled high to the sky, past this fence, and that very area... was the area I was headed for. sure, there were junkyard dogs that had once inhabited the place, but they were long gone now and any dog that wished to get in there, could do so if they pleased. Rounding the corner, I made my way slowly through the place, as if i were looking through the aisles of a grocery store, and that's pretty much what I was doing. My nose to the skies, I wandered about trying to catch scent of anything that I thought may be delicious to my tongue, and that's when I caught scent of it... It didn't smell fresh or anything, and it was a bit tainted, but it was meat. I knew it, and so wandered through the maze of a junkyard until I heard just before me, a clammering of noise. most dogs would have run away, but I continued forward, then finding a reddish colored dog before me. His leg was bleeding. ".... Hello.." I spoke rather simply, not truly caring if he was aggressive or not. Looking back down upon his leg I then stepped back to give him room. "Looks painful. You alright?" I asked, looking back to his eyes with a reluctant forward perk of my ears. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
